As retailers start getting their shipments of a new season’s merchandise, they start releasing those highly stylized campaign images meant to convince customers of just how fabulous and sartorially fulfilled their lives would be should they purchase these new items. But, quite frankly, it’s been a few years since we’ve felt compelled to actually purchase anything based on what we saw in a catalog.
(Instagram has proved to be a more effective shopping trigger as of late.) Neiman Marcus might have just broken that streak, thanks to its fall 2017 shoe and handbag lookbook, which was photographed by Elias Weiss Friedman of @TheDogist and features an assorted (and very good) cast of his canine muses.
“Working with dogs is a challenge in itself that I’ve come to master on a few levels, but integrating shoes, bags, and outfits into the images without stealing the dog’s spotlight was an entirely new challenge,” the photographer said of the campaign.
“The finished product may indeed seem like my signature Dogist aesthetic, but this was no walk in the park!” The puppies took quite well to the task at hand, it appears, as they all brought their best poses to show off new pieces from designers like Stuart Weitzman, Loeffler Randall, Edie Parker, Manolo Blahnik, and more. Seriously, try not to squeal with delight as you flip through Neiman Marcus’ lookbook of good fall accessories alongside even better pups. (Clearly, our chill is far from contained.)
